Greenwood Cemetery (aka Perrin Cemetery and Pittsford Cemetery) is located on the south side of E. Reading Rd. near S. Pittsford Rd. in Jefferson Twp.
(It is directly across the road from Leonardson Cemetery.)
Greenwood Cemetery was also referred to as Perrin Cemetery as we have seen by some death records.
According to a history of Pittsford , the property was purchased from Stephen and Catherine Perrin in 1855 upon the formation of the Society of the Greenwood Cemetery.
Stephen and Catherine Perrin are buried here.
It was also referred to as Pittsford Cemetery based on obituaries published in the Hillsdale Standard newspaper in 1918
and the 1947 writings of Vivian Lyon Moore.
The cemetery was photographed in October, 2008 and compared to a 1984 recording. If markers were illegible upon photographing, the information from the 1984 recording was noted.
