Location:
Platte Township Cemetery is located in NW 1/4 of NW 1/4, Section 8, T27N, R14W, Benzie County, Michigan. The access is from Indian Hill road north of Fowler road.

This project required much effort on the part of Harold and Linda Saffron during the late summer of 2004. All gravestone pictures of this cemetery were made with no burial location from Platte Township. After the gravestone pictures were taken we acquired a map from Platte Township, and used their records to locate most stones, and then walked the cemetery to locate the lot where the headstones were located. We then went to the County Clerk of Benzie for death records, the interent for death records of Grand Traverse county, then to the Benzonia Library to confirm death dates from death notices or obituaries. We found some that are different than the headstones, and used our judgement as to the correct date. We may have made errors as we are human, but this should be of great help to people doing genealogy.
