created in 1851, it became part of Crow Wing in 1876, and was reorganized in
1897. County Seat is Walker.
Cities, towns and communities include: Backus, Boy River, Cass Lake, Cyphers, Hackensack, Longville, Pillager, Pine River, Pontoria, Remer, Wabedo and Walker.
Cass County is located in north central Minnesota. Neighboring Minnesota counties include: Beltrami and Itasca counties to the north; Itasca, Aitkin and Crow Wing counties to the east; Morrison and Todd counties to the south; and Wadena and Hubbard to the west.

transcriptions of Marriage Applications, and other Marriage Records, as found
recorded in the county court house and state archives. We are encouraging these
transcriptions to be entire marriage books and/or rolls of microfilm.
Transcripts will be accepted and files will be placed in the USGenWeb Archives directory of the State and County, where the marriage records were originally recorded.
