Washington Parish
was created on 1819 , from St. Tammy Parish and the parish was named in honor of U.S. President George Washington . The Parish seat is Franklinton .

It is borderd by Pike County, MS (northwest), Walthall County, MS (north), Marion County, MS (northeast), Pearl River County, MS (east), St. Tammany Parish (south), Tangipahoa Parish (west) .
