Joshua A. Peavy,
son of William F. Peavy and Callie Jane Bennett,
was born 17 Mar 1878 and died 7 Nov 1967.
He is buried in Pine Island Cemetery, Simpson LA.
Joshua organized the first school system at Simpson,
and was its first principal.
