These young ladies lived along the Ward's Chapel Road east of Farmerville. Judging from the ages of those we can identify, this photograph was taken around 1915 – 1918. The identified girls all attended or lived near Hopewell School. Those identified:

• seventh from left: Reita Belle Hudson (later married James M. Carmack – with bow in her hair)
• fourth from right Velma G. Ward (later married Claude Boggs & Fred Kern)
• third from right: Susan Elizabeth [Dibb] Hudson (later married Herbert Lee Miller)
• girl on far right: Ruth Hudson (later married George Washington Miller)
