Feb & Ora McAdams, Hopewell Baptist Church, 1950s

 
Felbert C. "Feb" and Helen Ora Howell McAdams. The picture was taken inside Hopewell
Baptist Church in Laran not too long before Uncle Feb died. Uncle Feb was born 12/5/1896
in Union Parish and died 8/1963 in Union Parish. Aunt Ora was born 1904 and died 1975.
Both are buried at the Laran Cemetery, Union Parish. Uncle Feb is the son of David Jamison
and Elizabeth "Betty" Drury McAdams of Union Parish, LA.

Laran was a little community between Farmerville and Spearsville. It is a crossroads.
On one corner was Hopewell Baptist Church, across the road was a store (I can't remember
the name). Cata-corner from the church was Cranford's Store which later became McAdam's
Store, with an auto repair shop beside it. This building used to be the post office in the
back. Grandma and Grandpa's apartment was above the store. Across the road from that was
the doctor's office and drugstore.
