Photograph of John Alexander Kyle & Bertha Cole Kyle

This photograph was given to me in 1990 as one of a collection of unknown photographs belonging to a descendent of Ambrose Bedford Cole (1 Feb 1883 – 16 Dec 1931) and his wife Linnie Mae Scarborough (31 Jan 1887 – 7 July 1969), who married on 26 February 1905 near Farmerville, in Union Parish Louisiana. The Scarboroughs suffered from tuberculosis and other maladies, and doctors advised them to move to the desert climate of New Mexico. Linnie and Ambrose accompanied her family, leaving Farmerville in 1921.

Linda Cole Calhoun identified this photograph as her great-aunt Bertha Cole Kyle and her husband John Alexander Kyle. The young men behind them are presumably their sons, although their names are currently unknown.
