George Richmond Carroll (1820 – 5 June 1874) married about 1843 to Ester G. Telford (c1824 – 16 Sept 1882). They arrived in Union Parish with George's parents before 1850, settling near Spearsville. During the War Between the States, he served as the 1st Sergeant of Company F, 2nd Battalion Louisiana Heavy Artillery, enlisting on 7 May 1864 at Farmerville. He was present for duty at all times through the end of the war.
