Unfortunately, none of these photos had any information
concering the subjects. Possibly, the oval tintype is of Mary
Frances Shipp Roach, a guess based on her facial resemblance to the
Shipps.

The tintype process was patented in 1856. It was
made obselescent by the gelatin dry plates in the 1880's, but used in
some area as late as 1915. Clothing styles, particularly, of the
adults, may give some clues as to the approximately date of the tintypes.
