Old Homer Cemetery

Homer, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana

The Old Homer Cemetery was established in March 1850 when the Claiborne Parish Police Jury donated land to bury eight year old John A. Millican. It is located one block west of West Third Street and Edgewood Drive in Homer, Louisiana. Outside the fenced area on the west side are a number of graves of former slaves and/or paupers. A directory near the entrance of the cemetery gives the location of the markers.

Photo of area where the directory is located near the gate which is in the southeast corner of the cemetery. There is a gate but no sign at the entrance.
