DEED: Breeden, 1839, Shelby Co submitted by "Phyllis Hill" SHELBY COUNTY, KENTUCKY DEEDS, Book F#2, page 197 BREEDEN, JAS. to JOS. TURNHAM -- DEED This Indenture made this 27th day of March in the year of Christ 1839 between James Breeden and his wife Catharine Breeden of the first part and Josephus Turnham of the second part all in the State of Kentucky and in the County of Shelby. Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the sum of two thousand six hundred and ten dollars by the said Josephus Turnham to the said James Breeden this day in hand paid the receipt whereof the said parties of the first part do hereby fully acknowledge the said parties of the first part have this day bargained and sold to the said Josephus Turnham and they do by these presents hereby convey to the said Turnham all the rights title and interest at which the said James Breeden is now seized and possessed of and in a certain tract of land lying in the County and state aforesaid on Plumb Creek being the same land which descended from Richard Breeden to the said James Breeden and his co-heirs the quantity of said tract of land hereby conveyed to the said Turnham being seventy two acres and one half acre more or less the same seventy two and a half being an undivided interest now held by the same James Breeden in the said tract which descended to him and his co-heirs To Have and To Hold the said Undivided Interest being seventy two and one half acres to the said Josephus Turnham and his heirs and assigns forever free from the claims of himself and his said wife against the claim of all other persons whatsoever In Testimony Whereof the parties of the first part do hereunto subscribe their names and afix their seals the day and year above mentioned James Breeden her Catharine (x) Breeden mark Commonwealth of Kentucky Shelby County SCt I James S Whitaker Clerk of the County Court for the County afsd do certify that this deed from James Breeden and Catharine his wife to Josephus Turnham was this day produced to me in my office by the said Grantors and acknowledged by the said James Breeden to be his Act and deed and the said Catharine being examined by me prively and apart from her husband declared that she did freely and willingly seal and deliver the said writing and wishes not to retract it and acknowledged the said writing again shown and explained to her to be her act and deed and consenteth that the same may be recorded Whereupon the said deed together with the foregoing certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my office Given under my hand this 27th day of March 1839 James S Whitaker Clk Shelby County Court ************************ USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genelaogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities as long as this message remains on all copied material.
