| b1859.txt | 1859 Births NOTE: from Marsha Lambert 10-28-2004 I believe I have found a major problem on the website for Lawrence Co. I ordered microfilm from Ky Library for birth , deaths and marriages 1852-1910. Upon viewing the 1858 and 1859 birth years, I noticed that the births that David May has transcribed for the website for the years 1859 and 1860 were wrong. His 1859 years were actually for 1858, and his 1860 years were for 1859. I then viewed the 1860 census for Lawrence Co and found that children that David had listed born in 1860 were on the census . I especially searched for children that David transcribed as being born in Dec 1860 and found them on the 1860 census.They were listed as being 1 year old. A very good feat to be listed on a census record before being born!!!!! I do appreciate the time and effort David May put in his transcriptions. He has truly helped us alll with Lawrence Co. However, is there a way to remedy this mixup in dates?? Maybe post a correction on the site or at least put a footnote that the dates for 1859 and 1860 births are actually 1858 and 1860. |
