Jim Romans ___________________________________________ "namahle@orion.branch-co.lib.mi.us" Nancy Mahle Jul 8, 1997 I'm looking for information on John Batchelor. I believe he owned the property called Split Rock. He supposedly married a full blooded indian, by the name of Rebecca Metcalf. They gave birth to several children, two of which were twins named, George and Landon (Pete) born on Nov. 27, 1865 on the Illinois Prarie in a covered wagon. George married a woman named Mary Elizabeth Knipher on May 29, 1886. They gave life to several children before Mary Elizabeth (Lizzie) died in April 1909. Two of their children are still alive but know nothing about their parents or grandparents. The two children living, live in the Aurora-Lawrenceburg area (Indiana). Their names are: Clayton Batchelor and Adelaid Batchelor Sylvis. I would like to find out any information on any of the names, except for Clayton and Adelaid. Thank you very much!!! ___________________________________________ "adamssec@qni.com" Ruth Atteberry Adams Jul 12, 1997 I am searching for information on a William Atterberry (Atterberry) Atterbury, etc. that drown in the Brandywine River. Grant who was a methodist minister in Boone County in the mid to late 1800's. I would like to find his church records to find out about my Great Grandfather George Lacy who lived with the Rev. Grant and his family for awhile when he was a child. I would like to find out about his parents and what happened to them if he was living with the Rev. and his family in the 1880's when he was around 10 years old. I was told his church no longer exists and that all his records have been forewarded to the main Church, where ever that may be. My Great Grandfather was found on the 1880 census but not on any of the previous censuses that were taken. I would greatly appreciate any information that can help me in my search. ___________________________________________ "renners@bright.net" Mary Renner Jul 18, 1997 Looking for anyone searching Clayton in Boone Co., KY or Hamilton Co., OH, in particular: James A. Thanks. ___________________________________________ "dwallen1@gte.net" Don Allen Jul 26, 1997 On page 581 of the book "They Came to Kentucky" it says that Elizabeth Mosby Allen was the Daughter of Charles s/o Isham Allen, Jr. I followed Charles Allen's migration to Missouri in the 1830 time frame. If Elizabeth was his daughter, he left her in Kentucky on his way to Missouri from Virginia, probably with the Benjamin Mosby Allen family. In the 1830 Virginia census it showed that Charles had a daughter under 5 years old. If this Elizabeth was his daughter she was only a few days old when he was married to Mary Withers. Elizabeth did not show up on Charles' 1840 Missouri census. Another female did appear by the name of Elizabeth, but she was born in the 1830's in Missouri. I would appreciate any help I can get on the first Elizabeth? It is all very confusing? Would be willing to give any info I have on the Allen's. ___________________________________________ "jkirby@ponyexpress.net" Roberta Pyles Jul 31, 1997 I am trying to find the parents of William H.
