21 Dec 1997 Looking for SIMPSON/LEWIS connection. My great-grandfather was Charles Simpson and great-grandmother was Cassie Lewis. They had a son, Ward Edgar, March 17, 1892, in Cayuga, Indiana. There was another son, Orville, who is believed to have stayed in Indiana and married a Margaret. Cassie died when the boys were young and they were raised by an aunt, though I don't know from which side of the family. Any Simpson marriage, birth, death, etc. information would be greatly appreciated! P.S. Ward Edgar ended up in Lincoln, Nebraska for his married life.

28 Nov 1997 Would appreciate any information about the BROWN family that lived in Vermillion Co., in 1840, especially the Galon BROWN on P.893 who is 50-60 years old. Also on p.915 on the 1840 census is a Cyrus BROWN, 20-30 years of age, immediately below him is Andrew BROWN 60-70 years old with family, and below him is Elihu Brown, who is 20-30 years old with a wife that is 15-20 years old. The Elihu is not my gr gr grandfather, but he is possibly a nephew. In Tenn.,when my gr gr grandfather got married, a Guyan Brown signed the marriage Bond. I think that this Galon Brown is the same person. My Elihu BROWN lived in Boone Co., Ind in the 1840. Any information would be appreciated. Can not find these people in the 1850 census.

His son, Wakefield, married Sarah Ann Roberts in 1837 in Edgar Co IL.
Harmon gave his consent. There was no probate/will info in the Edgar Co
IL files; therefore, he might have been living in Vermillion Co. He
doesn't appear in the 1850 Vermillion Co IN nor the Edgar Co Il census.

They were living next to June Clark b abt 1806 Penn. June who I suppose was widowed had 5 children .
Prior to 1850, Oliver Perry's father must have been living and I cannot locate which family he belonged to. By 1860 I can find no record of June and her family.
The Armstrongs and Oliver Perry Clark had removed to Dallas Co Iowa.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

25 Oct 1997 I am seeking information on the BULLOCK family that lived a short time in Vermillon Co. Edward Bullock moved his family to Indiana from North Carolina by 1820. His children were Edward Jr.(wife Hannah), Elizabeth (Eslinger) and James P. They were listed in the 1840 Vermillon census. By 1850, Edward is no longer listed, and James P.(married Cynthia DALE in Boone Co. 1833) has moved to Boone Co. with his family, Edward Jr. must also be dead because his wife Hannah and son Samuel are living next door to James' family. I would like to find out Edward Sr. wife name, and if they died, along with Edward Jr., in Vermillon. This family had lived in Putnam county during the 1820, 1830 census, and in Vermillon in the 1840. Any information would be appreciated.

4 Oct 1997 I'm trying to locate ancestors of Joseph DICKEN who (based on the 1860 census) lived in "Newport Vermillion Township, Vermillion County," At the time of the census he was 26 years old, a farmer and born in Indiana. Also in the household was Duanna, age 18 and also born in Indiana. They were married within the year. Joseph and Duanna had a least 2 children; Emily (unk date of birth or death) and Sallie (or Sarah) who was born in IN in 1862 and died in Dana, Vermillion County in 1924. Although Joseph is in the 1860 Vermillion County census, he isn't in the 1870 census for this county and I don't know where he moved. Any help would be appreciated.
