ANDERSON / BELLAMY
I am looking for information about the John ANDERSON family who lived in Switzerland County. In 1838 John's son, John married Jane West BELLAMY. I would appreciate any information about the Anderson and Bellamy families. I have completed family group sheets for John Anderson and Jane West, and for their parents, but I have used dates based on census information. Jane's father, Samuel was a Reverend, I believe. BAILEY, Leonard W. resided in Switzerland co Ind.from at least 1832 to 1845. He married Mary Ann SPOON there and 5 children were born in Switzerland or Ohio cos. Leonard W. was born in NY but who were his parents? His son, Jacob W.was also born in Switzerland, Ohio or Dearborn cos. By 1860 they had removed to Mo. Mary Ann's parents were Jacob Spoon and Elizabeth Lineback. She was b:1813, uncertain where, and Leonard b:1809.

Need any information on my gg-grandfather, William Parrott CAMPBELL. He was born on May 16, 1833 or 1834 in Switzerland County. I believe that he was married at least 4 times, his last wife being Elizabeth Frances Butler. He was a school teacher. He eventually moved with his son, Oliver Melville Campbell, to Texas and then to Oklahoma. He died in 1924 in Atoka County, Oklahoma. I need to know any information on him. Amariah Alpheus GUSTIN born 1789 MD, died 1864 Hardin County, IL, listed in Switzerland County 1830, 1840 and 1850 censuses. He married Alcy TRIPPETT and had children: Isiah born 1816 married Catharine KELLY, Amassa born 1814 married Eleanor LYONS, Elizabeth born 1820 married Henry BAYNE, Thomas born 1824 married Charity LYONS. Eleanor and Charity LYONS were daughters of Robert and Martha LYONS. Robert was born about 1788 in PA and is listed on the 1820, 1830, 1840 and 1850 censuses of Switzerland County. Florence Eliza JOHNSON
Florene E. Johnson was born around 1900 and lived her entire life in the East Enterprise/ Rising Sun area. She married Elmer E. Sherman, a farmer, who died in 1955. Sons were Abe, George, Earl; daughters , Lula, Mary, Julie, and other children whose names I cannot recall. After Elmer's death in 1955, she remarried Goldie Chaoman. I need to find any information on Florence Johnson Sherman Chapman or Elmer E. Sherman. I know that they are buried in Rising Sun. Please! Any suggestions? I live in NC and cannot easily come to IN to search!

I'm looking for inf. on BLAND BALLARD JONES. Bland was born 1820 in Tipton Co. IN, and I later found him in the 1850 census in Johnson Twp, Clinton Co., IN, along with his wife Sarah MANUEL and their ch: May, Martha, William, Nancy A., Anthony L. and my g-grandfather Benjamin Franklin JONES. There could have had more children because as of this census Benjamin was only 3 years old. Bland died May 5, 1882 in Honey Creek Twp, Howard Co. IN. He was a laborer and a farmer. Benjamin was born June 28, 1847 in Kokomo, IN and died April 30, 1928 in Portland, OR. He m. Charity WRIGHT (d/o John Prior Wright and Hepsibah Coats) Sept. 29, 1868 in Howard Co. they had 7 children the last being born in Gary, IN. I have Benjamin's line down, but I know nothing of what became of his brothers or sisters. And I know nothing of Blands sibs or mother and father. He is supposed to have lived in Switzerland Co. in the 1860's. Will share what I have. Thank you.

I am searching for links to the Kern/Pavy family. My maternal grandfather was James Edward Kern who was born in Switzerland Co, In. in 1847. His father was Edward Spielman Kern whose father was Jacob Kern, Jr. who I believe was born in Pa. in the late 1700's. His father was Jacob Kern, Sr. who I believe came to this country from Germany and settled in PA. I believe Jacob Sr. was m. to Catherine Funk/Funck around 1740 in Pa. My grandfather, James Edward Kern married Ella Eliza PAVY (b. in Switzerland Co. in 1855) in the 1880's. Her father was Samuel PAVY and her mother was Ann Sabre GIRARD, the d/o Nathaniel GIRARD. The Girards came to this country fron Bordeau, France, settled in Virginia and later moved to Switzerland, Co. Samuel Pavy was the s/o John Pavy and Jane WYNN Pavy. John was a Baptist minister in the early 1800's in Switzerland, Co. I would like to contact any descendants of or links to this family for the purpose of sharing information.

Frederick SCHMIED, my great-great grandfather shows in Switzerland County in the 1830 U.S. Census. He married Nancy ANDREWS in 1837 and proceeded to have eleven children from 1840 to 1860. My grandfather Charles Frederick Schmied was the eldest. I want to find where Frederick was born, where he is in the immigration records and if he is an immigrant or the first born of immigrant parents.

JAKE ELLSWORTH ELLIS, born abt 1920-25 lived in Rising Sun/Lawrenceburg, IN. He married Lula Sherman in early 1940's and had a son, Jake. Little Jake was killed at age 4 in a car wreck. Jake divorced Lula around 1953- 54. I need anything on Ellis line that will help. Jake worked at Seagrams in early 1950's. Later he worked at Mayflower Trucking in Indpls. I am looking for any information on the family of Charles D. Jaynes, civil war veteran, born approximately 1847 possibly in Dearborn County.He married Elizabeth Cole and had at least one son named Charles D. Jaynes born in Vevay Jan. 20, 1882. I am looking for information about Rev. John PAVY who married Jane WINN in Harrison Co, KY in 1811 and moved to Switzerland Co, IN about 1823. I am also looking for information about his son, Samuel Husk PAVY, my great grandfather, born 1814. Samuel married Ann Sabre GERARD, the daughter of Nathaniel GERARD and Susannah ROGERS GERARD. I have some information about the PAVY family but none about the GERARD'S and the ROGER'S. I would be glad to share what I have.

I am looking for information on the parents of Louisa RAYL who married Jacob GULLION on 7/06/1849 in Switzerland County.

SCHMIED
After a recent visit to Vevay and surrounding area, we discovered that my great-great-great grandfather Frederick Schmied is buried in the cemetery in Vevay next to his son William, who preceded him in death. He had four known children. Charles married Charlotte and had eleven kids, including great-grampa, Charles Frederick Schmied. William married Martha (Smith) and had Mary, Martha and Joseph. Elizabeth married Ullysses S. BORRELL, moved to Missouri. She died and U. Borrell came back to Switz. Co. and married William's widow Martha in 1866. Louisa married Thomas Jefferson PEAK and died in Missouri in the mid-1880's. The big mystery now is whether Frederick was a member of the Harmony Society in Posey County. He shows in both Posey and Switz. Co. in 1820 census. Also, don't know name of his first wife and mother of his kids. He married Nancy ANDREWS in 1837 in Vevay. She is buried with relatives in the Allenmore cemetery up on the hill. Any knowledge of the Harmony Society moving to Switz. County would be valuable. Thanks W. Smead.
