Have a great deal of info on descendants of Samuel BUSHFIELD (1767-1832), specifically his eldest son, George Taylor BUSHFIELD (1791-1822), who moved to S.E. Indiana (Dearborn/Switzerland Co.) from Westmoreland County, PA in 1817 and drowned in 1822 at age 31, leaving six children. George married Catherine KERN, d/o Jacob and Susanna KERN, who also left Westmoreland Co. PA in 1817 and settled in Switzerland Co., where many of their family are bur at Ebenezer Cemetery. Catherine KERN BUSHFIELD later married Rev. Cornelius RUDDELL/RUDDLE and they moved to Jeffersonville (Clark Co.), IN with five of her six children. Catherine and Cornelius later had one child, Jacob RUDDELL. Catherine's oldest child, James Spielman BUSHFIELD, was taken back to PA by his grandfather and never returned to IN. The remaining five children of George Taylor BUSHFIELD grew up in Clark Co.

I'm looking for info. about John and Charlotta (BENNETT) HAMMOND. He was b. in MD and m. Charlotta before 1820. One son, Denton (b. 1/01/1820) was still resident in IN in the late 1800s. Other children were Dennis Bennett Hammond (my ancestor) b. 5/04/1821 in Hamilton Co. Amos Hammond, Jehial Hammond (who served in an IL artillery company in the Civil War), Jane who m. William LITTLE, Julia who m. James RICHARDS, and Elizabeth who m. Benjamin STODDARD. John Hammond was a miller who lived in Jefferson Co, where he was supposed to be a pioneer. He belonged to the Democratic Party and lived in Madison Co until he and his wife moved to Switzerland Co, IN. Charlotta d. there on 7/04/1832. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. John Hammond d. in Switzerland Co. in 1853. Their son, Dennis Bennett Hammond, married Hannah PADGETT on 1/23/1840, and they lived in Rising Sun where he worked as a miller before moving to Indian Creek where he was also a miller. They then moved to IA in 1850. Sarah (Padgett) Hammond was b. in Salem, NJ, on 8/11/1821 and was the d/0 William and Sarah (PIFFER) Padgett. I am interested in learning more about John Hammond, in particular his father's name and where he was born in MD. John's father was b. in Scotland and came to the US before the Revolution. Any information about John Hammond's father would be greatly appreciated.

Researching McCREARY family. Daniel C. McCREARY b: Oct.23, 1823 d: Oct.9, 1870, and is buried in Quercus Grove Cem. The 1850 census lists him as a farmer in York Twp. He was also owner of a grist mill in Florence for a short time as was his son Oliver Francis McCREARY. Daniel married Polly (Mary?) CAMPBELL on June 7, 1847 in Switzerland Co. I believe she was born about 1825. I would like information on their ancestors. I have extensive information on Oliver Francis McCREARY descendants, and on descendants of Daniel's brother Jackson McCREARY. Jackson was NOT John J. McCREARY. Daniel & Polly had 7 or 8 children --Daniel, Alta McCREARY (Mrs. Jim Vaughn), Elizabeth (b: about 1852), Oliver (b: May 6, 1848), and three (possibly 4) who died as infants (Richardson b: Oct. 1855), Polly b:Feb. 13, 1862, and another infant dau born May 8, 1863. The 1850 census lists a 1 mo. old male, but the name was illegible on microfilm I viewed. It looked like Aladen.
I am interested in getting a copy of the "Switzerland County List of Patrons." I'm not sure what year it was, but on page 46 (York Twp.) is a listing: "J.Vaughn and D. McCreary, Markland Merchants" My gg-grandfather was Daniel C. McCreary and he had a son named Daniel. Daniel C. and Polly Campbell also had a daughter Alta McCreary who married Jim Vaughn. I think this entry probably is about my family. I would like any information regarding the J. VAUGHN and D. McCREARY who were Markland Merchants.
I am searching for information about Samuel MENNETT, who came to Vevay in the early 1800's. He was actually b. in Switzerland (Europe), and came to the US about 1779 as a youth. One of his daughters, Elizabeth, m. John WALKER Sr, who was a drover and ran a ferry near Miamitown in about 1820. These Walkers later moved to Rushville. Elizabeth's mother is said to be a Miss Sarah HOGAN.

Both bur. in the Olive Branch Cem. in Ohio Co., IN. He d. 10/12/1886. Parents were Peter and Keziah (HALLOCK) ROBBINS. Isaac's bros., Thomas and Jeremiah also lived in Switzerland County and Ohio Counties. I descend from Isaac & Lydia's son Isaac, Jr. and his wife Nancy Marie DENNIS.
I am looking for the family of Nancy E. ROGERS. She was born March 1, 1820 in Switzerland County to her parents, John and Ella ROGERS. (I have not been able to verify Nancy's parents names). Nancy married Thomas DAVIS of Jennings County, in Jennings County on April 21, 1837. They raised 12 children: Mary A. b. 2/5/1838; Elijah T. b. 12.21.1839; James M. b. 8/11/1841; John W. b. 9/25/1843; Sarah A. b. 2/13/1846; Jasper N. b. 3/7/1848; Francis M. b. 8/3/1850; George W. b. 10/15/1852; Even T. b. 12/15/1854; Thomas J. b. 2/28/1858; Andrew J. b/ 3/31/1860; and Nancy E. b. 6/21/1862. All but the last two children were born in Jennings County. About 1858, Thomas and Nancy moved to Wisconsin where the last two children were born. I have quite a bit of information on the DAVIS family and none on the ROGERS.

Searching for possible death records/cemetery inscriptions or church records for Gerhard Heinrich Schriefer/Schriever, Elizabeth MOELLER (MILLER) Schriefer, and Frederick Wilhelm Schriefer. WILKEY, David born 01-22-1830 in TN, Showed up in Perry Co. 1850 census living, with it what appears to be younger brothers, in the household of Barney Wilkey. Next door is a John Wilkey. He also appears in the 1860 Spencer County census, m. to Elizabeth HENDRIX, with 2 bros William and Barney Wilkey still living with him. I wonder if he could have lived in Switzerland or other surrounding counties with his parents. I need to know his parents and other siblings names.
