I would like any information on Alexander ALLEN (1778-1857), Robert ALLAN (1781-1850) or Agnes ALLEN (1784-1853), all children ofJohn ALLAN of Campbelltown, Argyllshire, Scotland. They settled in Jefferson and Switzerland Co., IN between 1820 and 1830. Alexander, his wife, Elizabeth ANDREWS (1778-1863), Agnes ALLEN and her husband, Daniel MILLER (1788-1868) were members of Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Robert ALLAN married Agnes "Nancy" WITHERSPOON on 1-Jul-1828.

I am Anne Wayt Dunivan and am researching Henry and Nancy DeMOTT BANTA. They were married in Shelby Co., KY and had a daughter, Martha Banta about 1802. They were part of the Low Dutch Colony settlement in Shelby Co., KY before moving to Vevay, Switzerland Co., IN. Martha Banta married William VILES in 1820. They moved to Ripley Co. for a brief period of time then back to Switzerland Co. by 1830. Then in 1842 William and Martha Banta Viles moved to Polk Co., MO with their children. Elias BUELL(1797-1871) married Sarah Hammond, daughter of Lott HAMMOND, in Allensville Oct. 19, 1817. Elias moved from Switzerland Co. to Bartholomew Co in Mar. 1821, and to Tippecannoe Co prior to 1829, as his daughter Emeline was b. in Tippecannoe Co Feb. 25, 1829. He went to Arkansas for a few months in 1834, and moved to Iowa in 1837 and to Oregon in 1847. He was a miller. Will trade information on Buell/Hammond families.

I am researching the CRAIG's. William CRAIG came out of Pa into Ohio and Indiana. William CRAIG was in Dearborn, Veeyvay, and Switzerland County. In 1840 William and his first wife are on the census but in August 1841 William remarried to his widow neighbor. I believe that his first wife died shortly after Ben was born in 1840. I know that he moved from Dearborn into Trimble Co. Ky for he is on the 1850 census there. I am looking for any information on this line. William remarried to Marjorie O'Neal GORDON. He had no children by her but his children were all by his first wife. William CRAIG Jr. B.1826 ; Michael B.1828; Allen B. 1832; Sally B.1833; Martha B. 1835; Samuel B. 1836; Ben B. 1840. I have nothing on this line after 1850 for I can not find them any where after the 1850 census. I am interested in anything that you might have on this family I am not of the Toliver CRAIG line. A Caleb HARRIS bought land in Switzerland Co Feb 22, 1815; recorded in Cincinnati District Vol 1, Indiana land Entries. Caleb R HARRIS and Russel HARRIS then appear in Randolph Twp, Ohio Co 1830 and 1840 censuses, as well as a witness in legal document in Rising Sun in 1840. I believe this Caleb HARRIS is grandfather of my ancestor Caleb Russell HARRIS and seek any information on this southeast Indiana HARRIS.
