William N. Gott lived in Montgomery County until purchasing in Linn County, Iowa in 1845. He reportedly was a county sheriff in Montgomery County, and returned to Indiana from Iowa in late 1845, leaving his wife, Jane Maddox Gott and children, to finish up some business. He died on September 25, 1845 in Crawfordsville, and is supposedly buried in the Old Town Cemetary. Can anyone confirm any Indiana part of this story, or offer some details surrounding his death?
