Roberts parents or siblings may have moved from VA to IN with him. We have heard rumors that Robert had two brothers that moved further west after living in Indiana. The names of Roberts brothers and their death certificates may give us the clues we need. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dan McNeely dmcneely@is.usmo.com 55 Fern Creek Lane

My sister Deanna and I are searching for records of McNeelys in Franklin Co. ca. 1850. The 1850 census for Brookville Township (21 Sep 1850) shows: House 242, Family 242, Robert McMeely (spelled the way it showed up on the census), age 27, farmer, born VA. Roberts wife was listed as Hannah, age 24, born VA. Her name was actually Leannah Burdine Bunyard. Children were Sarah, 4, born IN. and Mariah, 2, born IN. Mariah never showed up on any further census records so she might be buried in Franklin Co. The 1860 Census shows them as living in Shelby County, IN, in Shelbyville (third ward). They had three other children that could have been born in Franklin Co.: Ida McNeely, born ca 1851. William Preston McNeely, born Dec, 1854. my g-grandfather. John McNeely, born ca 1857. The Preston name keeps showing up with various McNeely families but I don't know the source of it. We are looking for any records that establish who Roberts father and mother were. We believe that Robert had at least two brothers that came to Indiana with him. It is also possible that his parents came at the same time, but we don't know. If you can provide any leads we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time, Dan Dan McNeely dmcneely@is.usmo.com 55 Fern Creek Lane

Looking for REUS/REUSS/REIS/RIES and KLOTZ families. My great grandfather Frank A. KOENIG married Catherine Theresa REUS. She was born May 27, 1874, probably in the Brookville, IN area. Wrote to the Catholic church in Brookville in 1991. Someone there was kind enough to do some research but the church records were not available per the pastor. Found many persons named RIES/REIS and KLOTZ who must have been related. Catherine's sister’s records indicated Mary (Maria Magdalena) was daughter of John and Mary Margaret (Maggie) (KLOTZ) REUS. John REUS was born July, 1847, apparently in Germany. Mary Klotz Reus was apparently born December, 1852 in Indiana. Frank A. KOENIG and Catherine lived in Cincinnati by the late 1890's.

I am hopeful that you may be able to help me with my genealogy searches in your area. 1) My great grandfather Henry Hudson Wiggans was born in Franklin Cty. on Aug 13 1832. He was the youngest child of John and Sarah (Evans) Wiggans. Where would there be an official record of this? 2) Henry Hudson Wiggans married Emily Jane Tague on Dec 16 1854 and moved west to lawrence cty KS the following year. Would this marriage record be available? 3) Emily's sister Sarah married William Mcwhinney about the same time and all moved west and settled near each other in Kansas. Would the marriage record be available? John Wiggans as a young man built or helped build the earliest stone houses in Cincinnati and Sarah Evans was a school teacher there. Both families reportedly lived in Franklin Cty Indiana. John had a farm. His father also "John" immigrated from Scotland before the revolution, fought with the Continental Army until hostilities were over and then moved westward ending

Seeking parentage of greatgreatgrandfather John J. TAYLOR, b. ca 1808, MD. married Elizabeth STANSBURY in Franklin Co. IN on 18 Dec 1830. They moved on to Illinois by 1850 (census) and then into Iowa by 1853. Daughter Mary Ann was born 1832 in IN. Son William born 1834, Ohio. Daughter Hannah born 1837, IN. Daughter Amanda E. born 1842, Illinois. Son Joseph W. born 1845, IN. Daughter Rachel J. born 1747, Illinois. This movement leads me to believe they were connected somehow with the railroad.
