Kessler/Esmann/Hackmann/Gaefe: Wilhelmine Kessler b. 25 Aug.1851 in a place called Frarmer's Retreat; i.e. now known as St. John's Lutheran Ch. Mother was Mary Elsmann, or Mary Elamann? in any case her father was John R. Kessler. She had a sister: Sophie Marie b.13 Oct. 1854. according to the records of St. John's the Kesslers were born there in numbers: from 1851 thru 1882, Henry Kessler and Marie Longkamp it seems had 12 children., The question is who is John Kessler, where is the Farmer's Retreat located and how far from Cincinnati is it located? It also seems the German people travel ed from Cincinnati to the Farmers Retreat to have their babies, and since it was a German Retreat in was the place to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks: Norman Gaefe
