The Butler Herald Jan 26, 1897 Vol XXI No 13 George Washington Youngblood died at his home in Marion county on the 20th inst. Deceased was born in Barnwell District S.C., Dec. 24th 1824; came to Georgia in his twenty-second year; has been a member of the Missionary Baptist church continuously from early boyhood. He was an ex-confederate soldier, entered service in April 1862, and served until the close of the war. He had also been a free and accepted Mason for twenty years, and the funeral was conducted by Masonic fraternity. He leaves a wife and family to whom the people at large extend sincere sympathy. The Butler Herald March 23, 1897 Vol XXI No 21 Friday morning last little Mary Youngblood the 3 year old babe of Mr. and Mrs. M.W. Youngblood breathed its last. She was a bright loving and promising little girl, and she will be sadly missed in the home she has left. We deeply sympathize with the bereaved family.
