Andrew J. Rodgers
Co A 27 GA INF
CSA

I do not know when Andrew J. Rodgers was born nor do I
know exactly when he died. He is not with his family on
the 1870 Taylor Co., GA census and his wife is listed
as a widow. He joined the 27th Reg't GA VOL INF on July
10, 1862 for the duration of the war. He is shown as
appearing on a List of casualties of the 27th GA Reg't
in actions about Chancellorsville, VA., May 2 to 6,
1863. He was given a clothing receipt for the 3rd and
4th quarters of 1863. Is listed as present Jan - Feb
1864 on the company muster rolls. Is given another
clothing receipt for July 1864. Then on Oct 3, 1864 he
is in Jackson Hospital, Richmond VA., and was
furloughed on 10 Nov, 1864 for 60 days. That is the
last information available. He is buried in Prosperity
Cemetery, Taylor Co., GA.

daughter of William and Zilphey Roberts and step-
daughter of Lucinda Massey Shirah Roberts (daughter of
