Additional Comments: Racine Journal Thu, 24 Feb 1898 ·Page 8 Union Grove, Wis., Feb 22, 1898 Word was received by Mr. Chet Hulett from J. W. Payne that the funeral of his wife, Myra Yates Payne was held from the Methodist Episcopal church at Citronelle, Ala., on the February 19, 1898, she having died on the 16th in her thirty second year. The body was embalmed and enclosed in a metallic casket and will be brought back and interred in the Union Grove cemetery as soon as Mr. Payne can close up his business there. The sympathy of their wide circle of friends is extended to Mr. Payne and two sons in this, their sad bereavement, for in her death we realize that the neighborhood has lost a noble hearte and true type of womanhood, self-sacrificing in her efforts to advance the good of mankind and especially they of her own household.
