ANTHONY DEY

Original Attachment, May 12, 1827: Levied on 17 acres of land, lying on the 
waters of Sugar Creek, adjoining the lands of ALEX McLURE and other; also, on 
70 shares of stock in the capitol of Mecklenburg Gold Mining Company

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendant, ANTHONY DEY, 
is not an inhabitant of this State. It is therefore ordered by the Court that 
publication be made for six successive weeks in the Charlotte Journal 
notifying said defendant, non-resident, to be and appear at our next Court of 
Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for the County of Mecklenburg at the Court 
House in Charlotte on the 4th Monday in October next. Then and there to plead, 
answer, or demur to this petition filed. Otherwise judgment will be taken pro 
confesso and the matter heard ex parte as to him. Witness BRALY OATES, Clerk 
of the said Court at office, on the 4th Monday in July A.D. 1837.
