     vs.
The real estate of JOSEPH REED, deceased

Petition for Dower

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that HARRIS McCOMB and JANE H., 
his wife, defendants in this case, are not residents of this State. It is 
therefore ordered by the Court that publication be made for six successive 
weeks in the Charlotte Journal notifying said defendants to appear at the next 
term of this Court for the County of Mecklenburg County at the Court House in 
Charlotte on the fourth Monday in April next, to plead, answer or demur to 
this petition or judgment will be taken pro confesso and the matter heard 
exparte as to him. Witness CHARLES T. ALEXANDER JR., Clerk of the said Court 
at office on the fourth Monday in January A. D. 1844.
