STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA   COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS  MECKLENBURG COUNTY
August Term, 1835

SUSANNAH GARRIS
     vs.
THE HEIRS AT LAW OF BEDFORD GARRIS, dec'd

Petition for Dower

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the following heirs of said 
deceased, viz.: NATHAN BLACKBURN and wife, WINNEY; JOHN REEVES, AND ELISHA 
REEVES are not residents of this State. It is therefore ordered by the Court 
that publication be made for six successive weeks in the Charlotte Journal 
notifying the said Defendants, non-residents, to be and appear at our next 
Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for said County at the Court 
House at Charlotte on the fourth Monday in November next. Then and there to 
plead, answer or demur to this petition filed: Otherwise judgment will be 
taken pro confesso and the matter heard ex parte as to them. Witness BRALY 
OATES, Clerk of the said Court at Office on the last Monday in August A.D.1835.
