McCoy Family Bible is currently in the possession of great great grandson Wallace C. Hayes of Savannah, Georgia. This Bible originally belonged to Alice A. McCoy Parker of Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. She was the youngest daughter of William F. McCoy and Zilphia Phillips McCoy. Zilphia was the daughter of Margaret Witherington and Peter Phillips of Contentnea, Lenoir County, North Carolina. William F. and Zilphia McCoy are buried in the Washington T. Sumrell Cemetery of Lenoir County, North Carolina. After Alice Parker's death, the Bible passed to her daughter Cora Alice Parker Wallace of Kinston. At Cora's death, the Bible passed to her daughter Doris Marie Wallace Hayes of Kinston. At Doris' death, the Bible passed to her son Wallace. The Bible was published in Buffalo by Phinney & Co., 1851, and is titled Holy Bible Containing Old and New Testaments Together With The Apocrypha: Translated Out of the Original Tongues, and With the Former Translations Diligently Compared and Revised with Cannes Marginal Notes. The name "Zilpha" is handwritten at the top of the title page. The FAMILY RECORD section of the Bible contains the information listed below.
