BIBLE OF JOHN BRIGHT KENNEDY

Copy of the original Bible found in the Collection of William Murphy, Joyner Library,
Manuscript Division, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC. The Bible was given to
Bill by Sue Rouse and is currently in the possession of one of Hope Hartsfield Kennedy
Murray's children.

Family Record of John Bright Kennedy

NOTE: The Bible does not give the wives of John Bright Kennedy but from notes Hope
Murray made he had two and probably three wives. She stated the first wife was Easter
thought to be the daughter of Ezekiel Creech. She died after Harriet was born in 1830. It
is thought that John Bright Kennedy had a 2nd wife who had no children. He then married
Elizabeth Hartsfield who was the mother of his children starting with Walter.
