As in any typed transcript, there are usually errors and the researcher should be aware of this problem. John Croom has made several corrections from his research and those are noted with a NOTE: the correction and his initials. NOTE: Ann Hare was born in 1770 in Hertford County. Much of this family moved to Alabama where descendants are still found today although Richard died in Wayne County, NC with a Will. The dates in the copy are written completely in numbers ie 1-26-1786. Because we can't use tabs for the archives, I have changed those to 1 January 1786 for easier reading. NOTE: Lawrence County - Hayes (jc) Jesse Hair Croom b 14th Aug. 1823, Lawrence City, Ala D in Richard, Tex. 1859 NOTE: Lawrence County - Hayes (jc) JHC Note: My studies of the 1860 TX Mortality Schedule revealed that a Jesse H. CROOM was murdered in Oct 1860 in Ft. Bend Co., TX. I find a town of Richmond in that county. I also note that Ft. Bend is adjacent to Wharton Co. where brother John LaFayette CROOM died. Wilie Tilamn Croom b 11th Mar. 1835, Lawrence City, Ala D May 24, 1841 at Huntsville, Ala. NOTE: Lawrence County - NOTE: I have no info on this son. Died prior to father's will 1 Nov 1841. (jc) John LaFayette Croom b 25th Nov. 1826, LaGrange, Franklin City, Alabama NOTE: Alabama Franklin County - Hayes JHC NOTE: Madison, Lawence & Franklin in extreme northern part of AL. I surmise that LaGrange was a town in Franklin Co. I cannot find it on my maps. (jc) Died Apr. 26, 1912, Wharton, Tex. Listed in 1850 census as age 7, living with her sister Eliza Ann Tunstall & family. Apparently Elizabeth was born aft will and bef her mother died in 1844.
