Bible Records found in the Collection of Sybil Hyatt which is partly at 
Heritage Place. A note at the bottom states these records were copied 
from the family Bible by Jack Evans, Kinston, NC, a relative.

Isaac Brown, the son of Benjamin Brown and Ruth his wife was born Sept. 
the 25th, 1774, Died Aug. 4th, 1840

Mary Dean, the daughter of William Dean and Susanna his wife was born 
March 22nd, 1780

Isaac Brown and Mary Dean were married Sept. the 21st day, 1796

William Brown son of Isaac Brown and Mary his wife was born April the 
9th day 1798

Priscilla Brown daughter of Isaac Brown and Mary his wife was born 
November the 23rd day 1800

Achsah Brown daughter to Isaac Brown and Mary his wife was born the 25th 
day May 1803 and died the 16th day Sept. 1809

Susanna Brown daughter to Isaac Brown and Mary his wife was born April 
the 21st day 1805

Zacheus Brown son to Isaac Brown and Mary his wife was born January the 
9th day 1808, died March 13, 1873

Orpah Brown daughter to Isaac Brown and Mary his wife was born the 12th 
day December 1810, died January 13th day 1854

Mary Brown daughter to Isaac Brown and Mary his wife was born the 20th 
August 1813, died April 28th 1885

Beulah Brown daughter to Isaac Brown and Mary his wife was born the 29th 
April 1816

Levicy I. Brown daughter to Isaac Brown and Mary his wife was born the 
7th day November 1819

Mary Brown the wife of Isaac Brown departed this life the 8th November 
1819

Beulah Brown departed this life the 16th October 1822

Isaac Brown and Lucy Small were married the 31st May 1820

Leah Brown daughter to Isaac Brown and Lucy his wife was born the 10th 
December 1821

Cyrus Brown son to Isaac Brown and Lucy his wife was born the 6th day 
October 1823, died April 25th 1887

Nancy Brown daughter to Isaac Brown and Nancy his wife was born the 26 
April 1826

Isaac Brown son of Isaac Brown and Nancy his wife was born the 29th 
October 1828, died Dec. 26, 1904

Nancy Griffith Brown born May 3th 1784 and died April 14, 1852

NOTES: These notes are at the bottom of the page. I caution the 
researcher regarding their use due to new information found in 1998, 
donated to LCC and abstracted by Russell King. Among those papers is 
found the will of Philpenah Miller Noble Kinsey who was the widow of 
Philemon who died in 1782. She married second Joseph Kinsey. She clearly 
states in her will that her former husband was Philemon. The will of 
Joseph Kinsey is also found in these papers and one page of a Noble 
Bible

"Benjamin Brown was the son of Howell Brown of Virginia. Benjamin Brown 
married his wife Ruth Langston in Virginia before moving to NC. After 
his death his widow Ruth Brown married William ? Dortch and moved to 
Georgia taking all the Brown and Dortch children except the eldest son 
Isaac Brown and he stayed here because by the English law he inherited 
the estate."

Mr. Joseph Kinsey, LaGrange, NC wrote Jan. 2, 1908 "Grandmother Brown's 
mother was named Catherine Miller sister of Phillip Miller also daughter 
of Phillip Miller ie Uncle Ike's and my mother's grandmother was 
Catherine Miller. Further Mary Kinsey my grand father Kinsey's sister 
married Richard Nobles whose mother was Peny (long e) Nobles wife of 
John Nobles (some think Philemon instead of John) and sister of Phillip 
Miller. Also Uncle Ike's father (Note - there is a note in the Bible 
records that Uncle Ike was the Isaac Brown born in 1828 -mmm), my 
grandfather first married a Dean whose mother was Phillip Miller's 
sister. His last wife who was a widow was the daughter of Catherine 
Miller (as above). So you see two of his wives were cousins and 
daughters of Phillips Miller's sisters. Greatgrandfather Kinsey in his 
old age married the widow of John Nobles and she was as above said the 
sister of Phillip Miller. My grandfather Isaac Brown was a son of 
Benjmain Brown. He being the! oldest inherited the land at his father's 
death and his brothers moved to Georgia."
