                     TO THE GOVERNOR OF VIRGINIA, 1795

KNOW all men by these Presents that we Daniel Carlin James Lyon Wm. Carter Robert Rowan Jonathan 
Hanby and Edward Tatum of Patrick County are held and firmly bound unto the Governor & his 
Successors in the Penal Sum of Ten Thousand Pounds to which payment well and truly to be made 
we bind ourselves our heirs Exors. and Admrs. Jointly & Severally firmly by these Presents 
Sealed with our Seals and dated this 24th day of September 1795.

    The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bound Daniel Carland Gent. 
Sherif of this County shall well and truly Collect or Cause to be Collected the Revenue tax for 
the Year 1794 within the County of Patrick and pay the same unto the Treasury of the 
Commonwealth of Virginia Agreeable to the Act of Assembly in that case made and Proved, then 
the above Obligation to be void else to Remain in full force Power and Virtue.

Act and Deed and the same was Ordered to be Recorded by the Court.
