Will of John Tudor, 1900 - Patrick Co. VA


I, John Tudor of Patrick Co. Va. occupation farmer make this my last will. I 
give, devise, bequeath any estate and property real and personal as follows: 
that is to say - Mary Hill, Wm. A. Tudor, J.H.L. Tudor, Sarah Cruise, Jesse 
C. Tudor dec'ds heirs Nancy C., James H., and Walter G. Tudor, Susan A. Ore, 
Martha Smith, Green J. Tudor, Catherine Atkinson and James H. Tudor, are all 
heirs of my body. I have advanced to Mary Hill, Wm. A. Tudor and J.H.L. 
Tudor, One hundred dollars each and to Jesse C. Tudor, dec'd Seventy five 
dollars. After my other children are made equal in amount, it is my wish that 
my estate to be equally divided and that my property shall be sold to the 
highest bidder as the law directs. I appoint Green J. and James H. Tudor as 
Administrators.
In witness whereof I have signed this instrument as my will, this 6th day of 
February 1900.

The foregoing will was this day signed by the said John Tudor and 
acknowledged by him as his last will in the presence of us the undersigned 
subscribing witnesses both of us being present at the same time; and each of 
us at the request of the said John Tudor and in his presence subscribed the 
said will as subscribing witnesses thereto.
Witness our hands this 6th day of Feb. 1900.

At a County Court held for the County of Patrick at the C.H. thereof April 
the 24th 1900.
The will of John Tudor dec'd was this day presented in Court and proven by 
the Oathes of J.F. Wells & Julia F. Cooper subscribing witnesses thereto and 
ordered recorded. And Green J. & Jas. H. Tuder executors named in said will 
refusing to qualify; the estate of John Tudor dec'd is given in charge of 
R.J. Woolwine Sheriff of Patrick County to be by him administered as the law 
directs.
