Will of William Gray, 1826 - Patrick County, Virginia

In the name of God amen, I William Gray of the County of Patrick and State of Virginia being low 
in body, but sound in mind thanks be to God for the same do make this my last will and testament
revoking all others heretofore by me made.  In the following manner (viz) I give and bequeath to
my beloved wife Mary Gray all my land in Patrick County, Va and else where and I give and 
bequeath to my wife Mary Gray eleven Negroes together with all the household furniture including
all other articles belonging to me also the money and bond which I have on hand during her life
and after her death to be equally divided between all our children except those to whom I have 
given a negro or money.  I give and bequeath to the heirs of Martha Dickerson a negro named 
Frank; I give and bequeath to Mary New a negro named Sarah during her life and after to heirs; 
I give and bequeath to Nancy Taylor a negro named Mooring?, and I give and bequeath to Elizabeth
Webb either of my negroes which my wife Mary Gray may think proper.   Likewise I wish the two 
hundred and thirty three dollars which I lent my son James Gray to be counted in when the estate
shall be equally divided - And Lastly I appoint Reuben Taylor and Daniel Gray my sole executor 
of this my last will and testament.  In which whereof I have unto set my and and seal this 22nd 
of April in the year of Christ A.D. 1826.

act and deed of the within named William Gray dec'd and ordered to be recorded.
