The following is a transcription of the will of Mary Frans, wife of John Frans 
Sr., in Patrick Co, VA, Will Book 1, page 124 (The signature, Nancy Frans, is 
as it is in the will.):

In the name of God.  Amen.  I Mary Frans of Patrick & State of Va., being weak 
& low in body but in my perfect senses; I calling to mind the mortality of my 
body and knowing that it is once appointed for all to die do therefore make & 
ordain this as my last will & testament in manner & form as followeth.  First 
it is my desire & wish, that all my just debts should be paid secondly it is 
my desire that all my estate, such as stock of every description household, & 
kitchen furniture plantation utensils, & all monies in my possession or money 
due me or shall hereafter become due, shall be equally divided between my son 
Danl Frans, & my grandson Martin Miller, to them & their heirs forever & 
lastly I do hereby constitute & appoint my son Danl Frans & my grandson Martin 
Miller Executors to this my last will & testament, hereby revoking & 
disanulling[?], all other wills, & testaments, or bequests by me made & 
declaring this to be my last will & testament, In witness whereof I have  
hereunto set & affixed my hand & seal this 12th day of May 1815

This will was partly proven in open court to be the act & deed of the within 
named Mary Frans decd & certified for further proving & afterwards at November
