THIS INDENTURE made this 9 day of January in the Year of our Lord 1827
Between William Sharp of the County of Patrick and state of Virginia of the
One part and Hiram Rogers of the same County and state of the other part,
Witnesseth that the said William Sharp for and in Consideration of the sum
of [left blank] lawful money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said
Hiram Rogers at or before the sealing & delivery of these presents the
receipt whereof the said William Sharp doth hereby acknowledge hath granted,
bargained, sold aliened, enfeoffed & Confirmed & by these presents doth
grant, bargain, and sell, alien, enfeoff & confirm unto the said Hiram
Rogers his heirs and assigns forever one Certain tract piece or parcel of
Land with the appurtenances, situate lying and being in the County of
Patrick Containing One hundred acres be the same more or less and bounded as
follows to Wit; Beginning at a chesnut tree in James Newmans line on a ridge
path, thence Newmans line So. 46 W. 44 poles to a red oak No. 40 E 30 poles
to a Sassafras, thence South 30 W. 98 poles to a black gum thence a new line
So. 65 W. 100 poles to a chesnut tree on the east side of a branch of
Russells Creek thence up the branch No. 14 W 30 poles to a corner on the
branch No. 45 E 12 poles to a corner No. 60 E 56 poles to a corner No. 40 E
20 poles to a corner No. 32 W 60 poles to pointers on the aforesaid Branch
thence a dividing line 157 poles to pointers on the ridge path above
mentioned, thence south 34 W. 41 poles to the beginning. To Have and to
hold the said tract of Land and all other the premises hereby granted,
bargained, bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof with their
and every of their appertenances unto the said Hiram Rogers his heirs and
assigns forever. To the Only proper use and behoof of him the said Hiram
Rogers his heirs and assigns forever and the said William Sharp for himself
and his heirs the said Land with all and singular the premises &
appurtenances before mentioned unto the said Hiram Rogers his heirs and
assigns free from the Claim or Claims of him the said William Sharp or his
heirs or assigns shall, will and do warrant and forever defend by these
presents, and the said William Sharp Covenants to & with the said Hiram
Rogers that he will warrant & defend the title aforesaid to the premises
aforesaid against himself and his heirs & assigns forever and none other.
It being understood that the said W. Sharp by this Indenture conveys the
title vested him to the above Land by grant from the state of Virga. against
himself & heirs & not against all or any claim that may be put up to the
said Land. In witness whereof the said William Sharp hath hereunto set his
hand & affixed his seal the day and Year first above written.

This Indenture of bargain and sale from William
N. Sharp to Hiram Rogers was acknowledged in court by the said Sharp to be
his act and deed and admitted to record.
