This Indenture made this 24th day of September in the year of our Lord 
Christ 1811 Between William Sharp of the County of Patrick and State of 
Virginia of the one part and Thomas Reives of the County aforesaid of the 
other part Witnesseth that the said Wm. Sharp for and in consideration of 
the Sum of two Thousand Dollars Current money Virginia to him in hand paid 
the Recept of which he doth hereby acknowledge hath Bargained sold and doth 
by these presents bargain sell & Convey unto the said Ths. Reives one 
certain tract or parceil of land lying & being in the county aforesaid 
containing one Thousand acres be the same more less on Goblentown creek & 
Bounded as followeth to wit, Begining at a white oak on the west side of the 
said creek thence Runing So. 38 E 126 poles to corner, No. 60 E 96 poles to 
a corner, So. 44 E 34 poles to a Black Gum No. 52 E 18 poles to a corner, 
No. 50 E 192 poles to a corner, So. 36 E 96 poles to a pine So. 14 W. 166 
poles to a chesnut tree near the road on a Spur of the Bull mountain So. 20 
E 38 poles to a white oak So. 75 W 20 poles to a Spanish oak So. 42 W 32 
poles to a white oak So. 26 poles to 3 Sowerwood trees So. 52 W 96 poles 
crossing a Branch to a Dogwood near a branch west 24 poles to a corner in 
Allens old line near a branch up the same So. 7 W. 92 poles to a chesnut 
tree on the point of ridge So. 85 W 104 poles crossing a branch to a Spanish 
oak No. 7 E 56 poles to a chesnut tree No. 46 W 72 poles to black gum No. 52 
E. 72 poles down Goblentown creek to a poplar at the mouth of branch on the 
north side said creek up the said branch No. 28 W 128 poles to a poplar at 
the head of the said branch in Wm. Corns line with the same No. 55 E 16 
poles to a white oak So. 84 E 54 poles to a Dogwood No. 15 E 52 poles to a 
Red oak No. 30 W 100 poles to a corner No. 20 E to the said creek, down the 
same to the Begining with all Woods ways water and water courses, trees, 
orchards, & all other the improvements thereunto belonging to him the said 
the Thomas Reives his heirs Executors, Administrators or assigns to him for 
their own proper use & the sd. Wm. Sharp doth for himself his heirs, etc. 
from all & every person or persons whatsoever warrant and defend the said 
tract or parcil of land & premises to him the Said Thos. Reives, his heirs, 
& assigns forever in Witness whereof the sd. Wm. Sharp hath hereunto Set his 
hand & seal the day & year above written--
