THIS INDENTURE made this 14th day of September in the year of Our Lord one 
thousand eight hundred and thirty one, between William N. Sharp of the 
County of Patrick and State of Virginia of the first part, Samuel Sharp, 
Harvey Fitzgerald, David Hudson, and Zachariah Tyler of the same County and 
State of the second part, and William Clark of the third part, Witnesseth 
that for and in Consideration of the sum of one dollar to him in hand paid 
by the said William Clark trustee the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged, but more especially in Consideration of the sum of one hundred 
dollars due from the said William N. Sharp to the Danville bank of Virginia, 
for which the said Saml Sharp, Harvey Fitzgerald, David Hudson and Zachariah 
Tyler Stand as Security; and the said William N. Sharp being desirous to 
make harmless and secure the said securities aforesaid and their heirs, hath 
granted bargained and sold and doth by these presents grant bargain and sell 
to him the said William Clark trustee aforesaid the following land and 
property to wit, One tract or parcel of Land Situate lying and being and 
being in the County of Patrick on the head waters of Russells Creek and 
Containing by estimation two hundred acres be the same more or less and 
bounded as follows to wit, Begining at pointers in Gilbert's line No. 33 W 
14 pos. to a white oak No. 24 E 34 pos. to a white oak So. 12 E. 16 pos. to 
pointers So. 60 W 146 pos. crossing two branches to a Sorrellwood tree No. 
79 W 84 pos. to a  white oak thence So. 30 E 130 pos. to a red oak So. 51 W 
94 pos. to a white oak So. 59 E 149 pos. to a red oak East 47 pos. crossing 
a branch of Russells Creek to a chesnut tree in Rogers line that line up the 
branch No. 14 W  30 pos. to a corner No. 45 E 12 pos. to a corner No. 60 E 
56 pos. to a corner No. 40 E 20 pos to a corner No. 32 W 60 pos. to pointers 
on the branch thence a new line 157 pos. to the Begining, it being the Land 
he obtained by virtue of a Land warrant, two beds and furniture one Cow and 
calf, 1 large kettle and Shop pot, and all his other tools belonging to his 
hatters shop, one pot, 2 ovens, 1 skillet one oven lid four head of hogs and 
all his plantation tools of every description, one chest, one table, one 
cupboard, one loom two cotton wheels three or four pair of Cards.  To have 
and to hold the aforesaid Land and property to him the said William Clark 
and his heirs forever against the claim of all and every person or persons 
whatsoever claiming under me either in law or equity, upon this special 
trust and condition that the said William Clark trustee may upon being so 
desired by the said securities aforesaid after the 17th day of October 1831 
by giving ten days public notice thereof at Patrick Courthouse proceed to 
sell to the highest bidder at public auction the whole of the Land and 
property aforesaid or so much thereof as will be sufficient to satisfy the 
debt aforesaid and the costs attending the making and executing of this 
Indenture to them the Said Securities aforesaid or their heirs or assigns 
and the Surplus of the Land and property aforesaid if there be any remaining 
to be paid to the said William N. Sharp or his heirs or assigns.  In witness 
whereof the Said William N. Sharp and William Clark have hereunto set their 
hands and affixed their Seals the day and year first above written.

                         This Deed of trust from William N. Sharp and 
William Clark trustee, to Samuel Sharp, Harvey Fitzgerald, David Hudson, and 
Zachariah Tyler with the certificate thereon endorsed was presented in Court
