     James Pleasants Esq., Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, to all 
to whom these presents shall come, Greetings: Know ye, That in conformity 
with a Survey made on the tenth day of October 1823, by virtue of a Land 
Office Treasury warrant No. 7418, issued Febr. 18th 1823.

there is granted by the Said Commonwealth unto William Sharp

A certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing Three hundred and eighty acres, 
situate in the County of Patrick on the headwaters of Russells Creek and 
bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a large white oak in his own line, 
then S 30 E 274 poles to William Carters corner red oak his line S 20 w 
38 poles to a double Chesnut Tree in Barretts line, thence with that line N 
20 E 68 poles to a red oak east 47 poles to a corner on a branch Thence 
down and across the Same S 47 E 110 poles to an ash North 101 poles to a 
black gum N 30 E 98 poles to a to a sassafras in James Newmans line, thence
with the same N 40 W 30 poles to a red oak N 46 E 142 poles crossing a 
branch to a black gum in Skeltons line thence with that line N 30 W 190 
poles to a red Oak N 60 W 58 poles crossing a branch to a Spanish oak S 75
W 16 poles to a Spanish oak in Christopher Clarks line thence with that line
S 10 W 74 poles to a Spanish Oak S 24 W 210 poles to a white Oak S 12 E 
16 poles to pointers  S 60 W 146 poles crossing two branches to a 
sorrelwood tree and thence N 79 W 84 poles to the beginning ---

     To have and to hold the said Tract or Parcel of Land with its 
appurtenances, to the said William Sharp and his heirs forever.

     In witness whereof, the said James Pleasants Esqr., Governor of the 
Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his Hand, and caused the lesser 
Seal of the said Commonwealth to be afffixed at Richmond, on the twenty 
eighth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred 
and twenty four and and of the commonwealth the forty Ninth.
