Elijah Helton to John Handy
This Indenture made this day between Elijah Helton & John Handy each of them
of the County of Patrick & State of Va. Witness that for & in consideration
of the sum of forty five pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand
before the ensealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged hath bargained, sold, released & confirmed unto the said
John Handy his heirs & assigns one certain tract or parcel of land situate
lying & being in the County of Patrick containing one hundred acres more or
less & bounded as follows to wit beginning at a hickory tree in Watsons line
thence new lines south forty degrees east seventy two poles to a chestnut
tree, south sixty three degrees east sixty eight poles to a Spanish oak South
fifty three degrees east fifty eight poles to a Spanish oak in John Nevels
line with the said line to the conditional line thence to the beginning, the
same to the said John Handy his heirs & assigns with all ways woods water
water courses trees orchards houses fences & all other embodiments thereunto
belonging or, in, any wise to have and to hold the same unto the said John
Handy his heirs & assigns with its appurtenances to hold and fully enjoy the
same. And I do for myself my heirs & assigns forever warrant & defend the
right & title of the land & premises to him the said John Handy & his heirs
forever against the claims or demand of any person or persons whatever in law
or equity whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this the 18th
day of May in the year of our lord 1818.

Date: 10 April 1820
THIS INDENTURE made the Tenth day of April 1820 between John McAlexander Sr.
of the County of Patrick of the one part, and Samuel McAlexander, Wm.
McAlexander, Alex McAlexander, John McAlexander and David McAlexander of the
aforesaid county of the other part in Witness whereof the said Jno.
McAlexander Sr for and in Consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars
to him in hand paid by the aforesaid Saml., Wm., Alexander, John and David
McAlexder at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained, sold, released, and
confirmed unto the said Saml., William, Alexander, John and David
McAlexander Their heirs and assigns forever a certain Tract piece or parcel
of Land, situate lying and being in the county of Patrick on the Waters of
Wiggon Creek to be taken out of the tract John McAlexander Sr. now lives
[on] two hundred and fifty acres more or less, with this reserve that the
said Saml., Wm., Alexander, John and David McAlexander is that directly or
indirectly to sell, Rent, or lease the said land without the consent of John
McAlexander Sr. but the Said Alexanders is now in possession of the said
land and have ful powers to cultivate the same and the said John McAlexander
Sr. do forever warrant and defend the land and premises above mentioned
against me, my heirs, my wife, and her her heirs or either of us or our
heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever either in Law or
Equity recovering claiming or having any Just right, title or estate therein
but do by these presents forever warrant and defend the land and premises
above mentioned to the said Saml., Wm., Alexander, and John and David
McAlexander their heirs and successors to hold and fully enjoy the same In
Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and
year above written.

Helton to Lee
This Indenture made this 16th day of October in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and twenty one between Edward Helton and Jacob Helton
of the one part and Abel Lee of the other part both and all of them of the
County of Patrick and State of Virginia , witnesseth that the said Edward and
Jacob Helton for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and ten
dollars lawful money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said Abel Lee at
___ before the ensealing and delivery of these presents have bargained and
sold and by these presents do and each of them doth bargain and sell unto the
said Abel Lee his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land
containing three hundred acres more or less lying in the County of Patrick on
the waters of Jacks creek and bounded as follows to Wit:
Beginning at a black gum on the said Jacks creek, thence South West running
with Jesse Hubbard's line crossing a branch to a corner maple, thence West
crossing a branch _____ ridge to corner poplar, thence a conditional line
between Edward Helton & Jacob Helton, thence North West crossing five
branches to a chestnut oak on the old line, thence with the old line East to
a corner poplar, thence East to corner Chestnut, thence South conditional
line between John Hubbard and the said Helton to the said creek to a corner
white oak, thence down the said creek as it meanders to the beginning.
To have and to hold the land and premises free from the claim or claims of
them and all other persons and the right whereof the said Edward and Jacob
Helton they doth forever defend by these presents the said Edward and Jacob
Helton have hereunto set their hand and seals the day and year above written.
