THIS INDENTURE made this 14th day of April 1831 between William Lyon of the County of Patrick & 
State of Virginia of the one part, and Harden H. Moore of the same County and state of the other
part: Witnesseth that whereas William Sawyers by an Indenture of bargain & sale bearing date the
23rd day of November 1829 sold and conveyed to the said William Lyon in trust 2 certain Tracts 
or parcels of Land lying & being in the County of Patrick & State aforesaid one being the same 
the said Sawyers bought of John Hix the other an entry -- both lying on the waters of Doe Run 
in the said county of Patrick the courses Meets & bounds of Which will more fully appear 
reference being had to the Deed from said John Hix to the said William Sawyers of record in the 
Clerks office of Patrick & the Patent for the entry in the Possession of the said Sawyers.  To 
secure a debt due from said Sawyers to the said Harden H. Moore.  And whereas the said William 
Lyon on the 21st day of December 1830 pursuant to the trust aforesaid reposed in him having 
first advertised the time and place of sale as prescribed in the said Indenture in Trust Offered
the tracts of Land above described to the highest bidder for ready money and the said Harden H. 
Moore of the second part became the purchaser for the sum of Ten dollars.  Therefore the said 
Wm. Lyon of the first part for and in Consideration of the sum of Ten dollars...To him in hand 
paid and by virtue of the Covenant in the said Indenture in Trust, doth bargain and sell to the 
said Harden H. Moore and his heirs forever the aforesaid Tracts of Land with their 
appurtenances.  To Have and to hold the said Tracts of Land with their appurtenances unto the 
said Harden H. Moore and his heirs forever and the said William Lyon for himself and his heirs 
doth Covenant with the said Harden H. Moore and his heirs that the said Wm. Lyon for himself and
his heirs by these presents Convey to the said Harden H. Moore and his heirs all the right and 
Interest, Claims & demand either in Law or equity which he has acquired under the said Indenture
in Trust:

     In Witness whereof the said William Lyon hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal 
the day & year first above written.

        This Indenture from William Lyon to Harden H. Moore was acknowledged in Court by the 
said Lyon and ordered to be recorded.
