Deed to William Harrold from Ice & Snow, 1818
               Patrick County, Virginia

           
This Indenture made this 1st day of March in the year of our Lord Christ 
eighteen hundred & eighteen between ICE & SNOW of Patrick County of the one 
part
and WM HAROLD of Grayson Cty of the other part in consideration of the sum of 
two hundred dollars current money of Va. to him in hand by the said WM HAROLD 
at or before the ensealing or delivery of these presents the rect. whereof is 
hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold released and confirmed unto the 
said WM HAROLD his heirs and assigns for ever one certain tract piece or 
parcel of land situate lying and being in the County afor. on the waters of 
Johnson's Creek containing one hundred and thirty acres more or less and 
bounded as follows to wit: beginning at a chestnut in his own line on Buck 
branch thence new lines S22 E50 poles to a mahogany tree in a branch and up 
the same as it meanders 55 poles to a chest. oak by a parcel of large rocks   
                  N9 E82 poles crossing a branch to a white oak by a large 
laurel N69 W10 poles to pointers in EAST's line and with the same S86 W50 
poles to a white oak thence a new line S31 W24 poles to a chestnut in 
BRANSON'S line thence with the same E22 poles to a [Lynn?]. Thence a new line 
S31 E78 poles crossing a branch to a chestnut in his own line & with it N60 
E39 poles to three chestnut oaks S75 E26 to a white oak S22 E20 poles to 
three beeches from one root on the branch and down the same as it meanders 
S32 W30 poles  thence down the branch to a white walnut tree then up the spur 
of the spur of the mountain, to the beginning. With all way, woods, waters 
and water courses, houses fences trees orchards & all other emoluments 
appertaining or in any wise belonging thereunto to have and to hold the same 
to him the said WM HAROLD, his heirs and assigns forever, against me my heirs 
my wife and her heirs and other of us or our heirs and all and every and 
other person or persons whatsoever either in law or equity recovering 
claiming or having any write [sic] title or estate therein but do by these 
presents warrant and do find the land and above premises to him the said Wm 
Harold and his heirs forever. In witnesseth whereof I have hereunto set my 
hand and affixed my seal this day and year above written.
