Date: November 1, 1900
This deed made and entered into this 1st day of November 1900 by and between
Elizabeth Hiatt of the first part and E. S. Harrold, trustee, of the second
part, witnesseth that the said party of the first part hereby grants and
conveys unto the said party of the second part, a certain parcel of land in
the county of Patrick, and State of Virginia, on the waters of Johnson's
Creek and containing thirty acres more or less, being off the West end of a
56 acres track of land conveyed to the said Elizabeth Hiatt by John Scott.
The said 30 acres, more or less, being bounded as follows: Beginning at a
poplar on a branch, a corner of Scott's, Hiatt's and Harrold's lands; thence
a north course up the branch to a poplar, E. S. Harrold's corner; thence a
straight line to a white
oak on the Volunteer Road; thence a North East course with said road to a
popular on said road; thence a straight line to the beginning. In trust
however to secure the payment of a certain note this day executed by C. L.
Hiatt and the said Elizabeth Hiatt to Thomas F. Smith, for the sum of thirty
four dollars (34.00), due on the 25th day of December 1901, with interest
from date.

State of Virginia, County of Patrick, to wit:
I, R. S. Collins, a Justice of the Peace in and for said county do certify
that Elizabeth Hiatt and C. L. Hiatt, whose names are signed on the foregoing
deed
bearing date on the first day of November 1900, personally appeared before me
and acknowledged the same in my County aforesaid. Given under my hand this
the 15th day of November 1901.

In the Clerk's Office of Patrick County, Virginia, August 6th 1901. The
foregoing trust deed was received in this office with the certificate annexed
and, admitted to record at 9 o'clock A.M.
