This DEED, Made this 2nd day of December, 1907, by and between E. S. Harrold
and Eveline, his wife, of the first part, and W. D. Harrold, party of the
second part,
WITNESSETH:
That for and in consideration of One Hundred Dollars in hand paid, the
receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the said first parties hath
bargained, sold and conveyed unto the said second party, two tracts or
parcels of land situated in Carroll and Patrick Counties, on the waters of
Johnson's Creek, the tract in Patrick bounded as follows:
Beginning at a set stone by the Ward's Gap Road, thence N49 E51 1/2 poles
crossing a branch to a dead popular, N21 1/2 W73 poles to a White Oak on the
Volunteer Road, thence S47 W24 1/2 poles to the forks of said road, thence
the Wards Gap Road 82 poles to the beginning, containing 17 acres more or
less; the 2nd in Carroll County, bounded as follows:
Beginning at a Spanish Oak on the Ward's Gap Road, thence up the road 38
poles to a set stone, S69 W38 1/2 poles to the West side of a spring branch
at a set stone, thence down the same 25 poles to a Wild Cherry
on West side of the said branch, thence straight line about 49 poles to the
beginning, containing 6 1/2 acres, more or less.
To have and to hold forever in fee simple with General Warranty; but the said
first parties are to have full control of above described land during their
lifetime.

State of Virginia, County of Carroll, to-wit:
I, W. M. Ayers, a Justice of the Peace for the County aforesaid, in the State
of Virginia, do certify that E. S. Harrold and Eveline Harrold, his wife,
whose names are assigned to deed hereto affixed, bearing date December 2,
1907, have acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid.
Given under my hand the second day of December, 1907.
Virginia Patrick County, to-wit:
In the Clerk's Office of Patrick Circuit Court the 8th day of November 1918,
this deed was presented and with the certificate annexed, admitted to record
at 9 o'clock A. M.

Mary Bell Barnes.
