John Conner to Lucinda Belcher Conner, 28 Feb 1920
THIS DEED, Made this 28th day of February, in the year
One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Twenty, between John Conner,
party of the first part, and Lucinda Conner, his wife,
party of the second part.
W I T N E S S E T H
That in consideration of love and affection and that the
land hereinafter described is really the property of the
said Lucinda Conner by inheritance, the said party of the
first part, doth grant unto the said Lucinda Conner party
of the second part, with General Warranty, all of a certain
parcel or tract of land lying and being on the head waters
of Smiths River in the County of Patrick in the State of
Virginia, containing 36 acres, more or less, and bounded
and described as follows, towit:
Beginning at a Chestnut and Locust corner to J. W. Handy's
and said John Conner's land, thence an Eastward course to
an Ask (gone) near a fence thence a Northeastward course
with John Hylton's line to some Chestnut sprouts in Jones
line thence with Jones line to a Water Oak corner to the
W. D. Jones land thence a Westward course with the Underwood
corner thence on with said Underwood line to the Meadows of Dan
Road and with said road as it meanders to the beginning. Said
land is the land on which the said John Conner now lives.
Said party of the first part reserves a life interest in
said land to live on same his lifetime.
The said party of the first part covenants that he has
the right to convey the said land to the grantee; that
he has done no act to encumber the said land; that the
grantee shall have quiet possession of the said land, free
from all encumberances and that the said party of the first
part, will execute such further assurance of the said land
as may be requisite.

I, S. H. Underwood, a Notary Public in and for the County
aforesaid, in the State of Virginia, do certify that John
Conner, whose name is signed to the foregoing writing bearing
the date on the 28th day of February, 1920, has acknowledged
the same before me in my county aforesaid.

In the Clerk's Office of Patrick Circuit Court, the 7th day of
April, 1920, this deed was presented and with the certificates
