1856-Deed Bk 15, pg. 401a; Patrick Co., VA--18 July 1856
Grantor-Benjamin Frashure to Grantee-Rufus Turner;

This Deed made the 18th day of July in the year 1856. Between Benjamin Frashure 
of the  one part and Rufus Turner Trustee of the other part, witnesseth; that 
the said Benjamin Frashure doth grant unto the said Rufus Turner the following 
property, to wit: The following real estate; One tract of land containing one 
hundred and thirty three acres more or less and known as the "Yellow Sulphur 
Springs Tract" and the appurtenances there unto belonging, and other containing 
one hundred thirty three and one quarter acres, more or less and known as the 
"Hancock Tract", with all of it's appurtenances thereunto belonging, both of 
which said tracts of land and situated in the County of Patrick and State of 
VA.  

Also the following personal property, to wit; Six slaves, namely, Jerry, Hages, 
Jordan, Mary, Pinkney and Martha with the increase of said slaves. All of my 
interest, rights, title or claim in the estate of George Gunter, dec'd , it 
being the (?share) or interest of one (?deviser?), which share or interest was 
purchased by the grantor of Hansen Gunter one of the heirs of  George Gunter, 
dec'd., five milk cows, five calves, three work oxen and two yearlings, my 
stock of hogs about forty in number all of the increases of said stock. One set 
of Black Smith tools, all of the fixtures belonging to my tobacco factory, 
whether at said tobacco factory, or elsewhere.  
The present growing crops of every description upon the premises of the 
grantor , eight  beds, bedsteads, and furniture together with all the rest of 
my household and kitchen furniture and plane lumber tools of every description. 
All of the lumber, glass, oil paints and nails upon the premises of the said 
Grantor. One gold watch, one Rifle gun, one  (?stick and fixtures there?) as 
four hundred pounds of iron, one (?col) of carpenter tools all of this years 
grain, crop of small grain, that has been  saved, all of the corn and bacon, 
now in possession of Grantor, one woman's Saddle, and three Men's Saddles, one 
set of Ally Balls and Pins.

In trust to secure the following debts, to wit: one debt due  Asa Wood, for the 
sum of nine hundred and forty nine dollars and eighty three acres, dated the 
18th day of July 1856 and due the 10th day of April 1857.  One debt due John J 
Gray for the sum of one hundred and eighty dollars, dated the 18th day of July 
1856 and due the 1st day of January 1857.  One debt due Beverly L Gunter for 
the sum of  one hundred and seventy nine dollars and eighty four cents,  
dated the 20th day of June 1856 and due the 1st day of  January 1857.  One debt 
due William Martin for the sum of ninety five dollars, debts and  bearing 
interest from the 26th day of June 1854, this debt is subject to a credit of 
one dollar and ninety cents, paid  26th day of May 1856.

One debt due Brice M Frashure for the sum of two hundred dollars due the  1st 
day of  July 1856. And it is distinctly understood and agreed by the parties to 
this deed that the creditors secure and  to share  (?rateably) in the proceeds 
of the property herein conveyed according  to the debts due the said creditors, 
and it is also understood and agreed to by the said parties that the grantor is 
to remain in possession of the said property until  the 1st January (1856/58?). 
Now if the said Benjamin Frashure shall, well and timely pay all of the debts 
aforesaid due and bearing interest as aforesaid and also pay the costs of 
recovering this deed on or before the 1st day of January  (1856/58?), then this 
deed of trust shall be void, otherwise remain in full force (?& indenture?).
