THIS INDENTURE made this 21st day of March one thousand & eight Hundred and 
nine Between George Reives of the county of Patrick and state of Virginia of 
the one part & Josiah Reives of the county and state aforesaid of the other 
part.  Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred 
pounds Virginia currency to him in hand paid Before the ensealing and delivery 
of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath Bargained 
sold Released and confirmed unto the said Josiah Reives his heirs &c one 
certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and Being in the county of 
Patrick containing one hundred acres more or less Bounded as followeth to wit, 
Beginning near a corner red oak where Elisha Packwoods Path crosses the ould 
line thence along that line No. 60 W 140 poles crossing two Branches to a 
white oak south 85 W 142 poles to James Ingrams corner post oak thence with 
line No. 17 W 28 poles to a white oak thence new line N 26 W 133 poles 
crossing a branch to a white oak No. 248 E said Packwoods path as it meanders 
to the Beginning.  With all woods, ways, waters, and water courses trees 
orchards houses fences and others the emoluments thereunto Belonging or in any 
wise appertaining to have & to hold the same unto the said Josiah Reeves with 
its appurtenances to hold & fully enjoy the same and I do for my self forever 
warrant and defend the right and title of the land and premises to him the 
said Josiah Reives & his heirs forever against the claim or demand of any 
other person or persons whatever either in law or equity.  In Witness whereof 
I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this day and and (sic) year 
above written ~

			This deed was proved in court by the oaths of the 
witnesses and thereto subscribed to be the act and deed of the within named
