THIS DEED, Made this 31st day of March in the year one thousand nine hundred and
seventeen, between Margarett E. Bryant (single), of the County of Patrick, and
State of Virginia, of the first part, and Peter Martin of the said County and
State of the second part,
W I T N E S S E T H:
That in consideration of the sum of Eighty Dollars $80, in hand paid, the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said party of the first part doth
bargain and sell unto the said party of the second part, with General Warranty, a
certain tract or parcel of land, to have and to hold forever, lying on Puppy
Creek, in the County of Patrick, and State of Virginia, and bounded by the lands
of T.A. Wright, Lelia J. Wright, and Margarett E. Bryant and W.A. Emberson and
C.B. Martin, beginning at a planted stone in Lelia J. Wrights and Margarett E.
Bryant's line on the North bank of Puppy Creek, thence a West course up a ridge
seventy yards to a planted stone, thence a Northeast course crossing a branch to
a planted stone on another branch, thence up the said branch as it meanders to
W.A. Emberson's line, thence with his line to public road, down public road as it
meanders to a planted stone in C.B. Martin's line, thence with his line to a
planted stone on North bank of Puppy Creek, up Puppy Creek as it meanders to the
beginning, containing by estimation seven acres, more or less.
The said Margaret E. Bryant covenants that she has the right to convey the said
land to the grantee; that she has done no act to encumber the said land; that the
grantee shall have quiet possession of the said land, free from all encumbrances
and that she the said party of the first part, will execute such further
assurance of the said land as may be requisite.

I, H.G. Brown, Jr., a Notary Public in and for the County aforesaid, in the
State of Virginia, do certify that Margaret E. Bryant, whose name is signed to
the foregoing writing, bearing date on the 31st day of March, 1917, has
acknowledged the same before me in my County aforesaid.
Given under my hand, this 31st day of March, 1917.
My commission expires April 11th, 1917.

In the Office of the Clerk Circuit Court the 14th day of April, 1917, this deed
was presented and, with the certificate annexed, admitted to record at 9 o'clock.
