Tracts of land in which the Heidelbach School sat

PATRICK COUNTY DEED BOOK 103, PAGES 310 AND 311
THIS DEED, made on this the 29th day of January, 1953, by and between the
Patrick County School Board, party of the first part, and Ella R. Martin, party
of the second part;
W I T N E S S E T H
THAT FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the sum of One Thousand Dolalrs ($1,000.00)
cash in hand paid to the party of the first part by the party of the second
part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said party of the first
part doth hereby grant, bargain, sell, and convey, with Special Warranty of
Title, unto the party of the second part the following described tracts or
parcels of real estate lying and being in the Smith River Magisterial District
of Patrick County, Virginia, and described as follows:
All of those certain lots or parcels of land known as Heidelbach School, and
being situated in Patrick County, Virginia, and being the same property acquired
by the Trustees of the Ferrum Training School by the following deeds:
(a) Deed dated on the 15th day of January, 1922, from J.L. Wood and wife, to
the said Trustees of the Ferrum Training School, which deed was duly admitted to
record in the Clerk's Office of Patrick County, Virginia, on the 28th day of
January, 1922.
(b) That property conveyed to the Trustees of the Ferrum Training School by
deed dated on the 15th day of January, 1922, by S.L. Turner and wife, which said
deed was duly admitted to record in the Clerk's Office of Patrick County,
Virginia, on the 28th day of January, 1922.
(c) That certain property conveyed to the Trustees of the Ferrum Training
School, Inc., by deed dated on the 15th day of January, 1922, from H.T. Foley
and wife, which deed was duly admitted to record in the Clerk's Office of
Patrick County, Virginia, and which conveyed 1 1/2 acres of real estate.
These are the same and identical tracts of land shown as Tract No. 3 in a
conveyance dated the 25th day of August, 1943, to the Patrick County School
Board by the Ferrum Training School, Inc. and of record in Deed Book 79, Pages
265 and 266, in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of Patrick County,
Virginia. Reference is hereby expressly made to the aforementioned deed for a
more particular description and derivation of title of the lands hereby
conveyed.
This deed is being executed to Section 22-161 of the 1950 Code of Virginia and
all of the requirements of this Section were complied with before the sale of
this land to Ella R. Martin, party of the second part.

STATE OF VIRGINIA COUNTY OF PATRICK; to-wit:
I, L.W. Hopkins, Clerk Circuit Court in and for the County aforesaid in the
State of Virginia, do hereby certify that W.H. Tatum, whose name is signed to
the foregoing writing bearing date on the 29th day of January, 1953, as Chairman
of the Patrick County School Board and J.V. Law, whose name is signed to the
said writing as Clerk of the said Patrick County School Board, have this day
personally appeared before me in my County aforesaid and in the name of and on
behalf of the said Patrick County School Board acknowledged said writing as the
act and deed of the Patrick County School Board. The said W.H. Tatum made oath
that he is the Chairman of said Patrick County School Board and that this deed
is being executed under the authority of the said School Board.
Given under my hand this the 16th day of November, 1953.

In the Clerk's office of Patrick Circuit Court, the 16th day of November 1953,
this Deed was presented and with the certificate annexed, admitted to record at
11 0'clock A.M.
