Five acres more or less situated on Puppy Creek

Patrick County Deed Book 40, Page 124

This deed, made this 1st day of October 1912 between W.A. Via and Martha A. Via, 
his wife, parties of the first part and C.B. Martin party of the second part, 
all of the County of Patrick, and State of Virginia.  Witnesseth:  That for an_ 
in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars, of which the receipt is 
hereby acknowledged.  The parties of the first part doth bargain and sell to the 
parties of the second part a certain tract of parcel of land with general 
warrantee on Puppy Creek and its waters, containing five acres more or less of 
which the timber has been sold to Easter Cooperage Company.  Beginning on a 
planted stone near the head of a gully at Public Road, thence does the road 
north west course as it meanders to a planted stone on bank of Puppy Creek, 
thence down said creek as it meanders to mouth of a branch, known as W.A. Via's 
spring branch thence up said branch as it meanders to a planted stone at foot of 
a gully, thence west Course with the gully to the beginning.   The said C.B. 
Martin shall have the privilege of getting water from the spring or springs of 
the said W.A. Via for family convenience.

State of Virginia, County of Patrick, to wit:

  I, C.V. Ferguson, a Notary Public for the county of Patrick, aforesaid, in the 
State of Virginia, do certify that W.A. Via and Martha A. Via, his wife, whose 
names are signed to the within writing, bearing date of the 1st day of October, 
1912, have acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid.

      Given under my hand this 2nd day of November, 1912.

Virginia, Patrick County to-wit:

  In the Clerk's office of the Patrick Circuit Court, the 1st day of September, 
1913, this deed was presented and, with the certificates annexed, admitted to 
record.
